Room Discovery

What TrueConf Room is used for

TrueConf Room Discovery is an Android application which enables a user to quickly access the TrueConf Room control panel. TrueConf Room Discovery automatically detects the instances of TrueConf Room deployed in the local network and makes it much easier to interact with these instances.

Installation

Take the following steps to download the APK file:

1. Scan the QR code on the main screen with your smartphone to open the TrueConf Room control panel.

2. Go to Settings → About and tap on the Download button which will be displayed below.

3. The installation file will be downloaded on your device.

4. Allow to install applications from unknown sources (to learn more about it, read our blog). Then, install TrueConf Room Discovery.

Use

Main screen

After opening the application, you will see the list of TrueConf Room instances deployed in the local network. The following information will be displayed:

1. The name of an instance: it will match the display name of the last authenticated user.

2. The IP address and port needed for accessing the instance.

3. The date when the instance was last used with the help of TrueConf Room Discovery.

If due to some reason, the instance was not automatically detected, you can add it manually. To do it, tap on the button and enter Room Web Url (the address needed for accessing the control panel) and name. If it is necessary, enter TrueConf Room Controller and tap on the Add button.

Control panel

To access the control panel, select the instance from the list on the TrueConf Room Discovery main screen. In terms of the UI and features, this control panel will be identical to the panel available in the browser.
